Week Two’d

It’s what nanoers say when they’ve hit the week two slow-down on nano, as I have. Luckily, I have a write-in this weekend, so I can get back on track.

Whenever I come to a standstill on nano, I always have a kidnapping. I guess it’s time to employ a good kidnapping in my nano, even if the scene ultimately gets cut.

Do you have a go-to plot device you use when things slow down? Do you have one and didn’t even know you did? ^_^

  1. I’m always dragging behind on my daily word count averages, but still making progress. I hadn’t given it any thought, but I suppose my device is a transitional scene that often as not ends up getting cut during revisions. Wherever the MC is, she or he begins thinking about their troublesome situation/problem until someone else arrives and we move on to a new scene. Boring, but effective for regaining forward momentum. πŸ™‚
